Frequently Asked Questions
We've got A's for your Q's.
Oh no! When finding us on the Glofox app, make sure you include the apostrophe in 'Stone's', or try just typing 'Stone', and scrolling down to the bottom of the list to find us.
If it's something else, get in touch and let us know what's happening (screenshots are great if you have them!) and we'll see what's going on.
You sure can! You can cancel on both the app and the web portal, and if you can't come along to a class anymore we really appreciate you cancelling as early as possible. This way, we won't be waiting for you, and someone else can take your place.
Cancelling is very easy and intuitive through the Glofox app - just follow your nose.
If you manage your bookings through the web portal, it's not as intuitive but once you know how it's super easy.
Just log in and hit 'profile' at the top right. It'll take you to a list of all the classes you've booked in to, and you can just hit 'cancel' next to the booking.
We have a one-hour cancellation window, so if you cancel with at least one hour's notice your class will be credited back to you to book in again. If you'd prefer a refund, contact us and we can arrange that for you. If it's within the hour your class won't be credited back to you, but you'll still be doing us a solid if you let us know through cancelling ❤️
If the class you want to join is full, we recommend joining the waitlist - this means that if anyone cancels out of the class, you'll have an opportunity to take their place.
Firstly, a quick note on how the waitlist works.
When a space opens up in a class, every person on the waitlist is contacted and given the opportunity to claim it. No one is automatically added to a class, and the space isn't given on a first-come first-serve basis. This ensures that the person who claims the space is still able to attend, rather than someone being automatically booked in to the class who may no longer wish to attend, or may not see the notification in time. This means if you don't claim the space, you aren't booked in to the class.
To make sure you get the opportunity to claim the space, there's a few tricks to making the most of the waitlist.
1. Use the Glofox app on your smartphone
If you're booking via the web portal and don't have the app on your phone, then you're not going to see that there's a space up for grabs as quickly as those using the app. Given this, your best bet is to install the free Glofox app from the app store.
If you don't want to use the app, you'll receive an email from Glofox to let you know that a space has opened up, which will give you the opportunity to claim it.
2. Make sure you have push notifications enabled for the Glofox app
When someone cancels out of a class (and you're on the waitlist), you'll be notified by a push notification that you have an opportunity to book this class. You need to make sure push notifications are enabled for the Glofox app, so you'll see these messages.
If you have an Android phone, check out this article and look for the section titled 'Turn notifications on or off for certain apps'.
3. Enable 'Marketing Opt-In' in Glofox
Finally, you need to ensure that you opt-in to marketing messages from Stone's Throw Yoga to receive waitlist notifications.
Yep, that doesn't make a lot of sense 😂 But it's how Glofox works, due to some pretty restrictive legislation in Australia around marketing and push notifications. The good news is that the only marketing emails you'll get will be from us; and we promise not to spam you.
To make sure you're opted-in to marketing messages:
- Open the Glofox app on your smartphone
- From the main screen, click on the round person icon at the top-left of the screen
- Then click the edit icon at the top-right of the screen
- Scroll to the bottom of the page, and ensure the 'Marketing Opt-In (Keep me informed about upcoming events and special promotions)' is checked. If it's not, please check it, then click 'Save details'.
That's it! You'll now be notified on your smartphone any time a spot opens up in a class that you're waitlisted for.
If you need any help at all working through the steps above, we're always happy to help you out; just let us know before or after your next class.
It would be great if you could arrive ten minutes before class to allow enough time for the teacher to book you in, and for you to find your spot, grab your props, and prepare for class.
We know your time is precious, so our classes start and finish as scheduled.
To keep everyone's belongings safe, our front door is locked when classes begin, and as the class is held in another room the teacher won't be able to see you've arrived.
If you're only running a few minutes late give us a call on (08) 6118 0277 and we'll do our best to accommodate you, but we will only be able to do so in a way that keeps everyone's belongings safe and does not disrupt the class for everyone else.
Comfortable clothes that you can comfortably move in - usually standard fitness attire such as tights and a top is perfect. For the men, make sure any pants you wear have a bit of stretch to them, to allow you to move freely.
We don't wear shoes in yoga (and we recommend no socks, too, to allow your feet to really connect with the ground underneath you).
Traditionally, when practicing yoga you wouldn't drink water, but we understand if you think you might get thirsty! We'd recommend leaving the water bottles outside for Yin and Restorative classes, but if you'd like to bring them in for other classes feel free. Just be mindful as they're very easy to knock over during a class!
Please bring your lovely self and a yoga mat. We have ample studio props available for you to use, to enhance your practice.
If you do have your own yoga props you're very welcome to bring them along, to minimise sharing of studio props in a COVID-world. We also have props available for sale in our retail space, if you'd prefer not to share.
We have a limited amount of mats available for hire at $3, however we don't have enough to cover a full class, so they're more a backup for those days where you're halfway to us and you realise you forgot your mat!
Our creche is free to use, but has a strict numbers limit of five children per carer to ensure all the children are safe and well looked-after. We also take only two siblings per family in each class, to ensure as many parents as possible have the opportunity to take a break from their busy life at our studio.
To book your child in to the creche, you'll need to utilise our family membership option - creating an account under your profile for each of the children you want to book in to the creche, and switching to their account to book them in. Check out this video for guidance on how to do this.
Children over 10 are welcome to be booked in to join their parents for general classes if they don't disrupt the class (which includes lying still on the floor for up to 10 minutes at the end). Please bear in mind that we often use contemporary music in our adult classes which may contain swearing or adult themes.
You can book your child in through our ‘family memberships' - simply creating an account for your child under your profile, and switching to their account to book in. Check out this video for guidance on how to do this.
If this doesn't sound right for your child, we offer regular Kids Yoga classes that run with the school terms.
Yes! If you're coming straight from work, or need to head somewhere after class we have a change room available for your use.
This will be entirely dependent on your injury, how far along you are, and whether you already had a solid yoga practice prior to your injury or pregnancy.
We know lots about yoga, but we aren't doctors, so we always recommend that you seek medical advice as to whether you are currently suited to attend yoga classes.
